Leipzig, renowned for its rich printing heritage, saw the establishment of IE Engineering in 1990. Originally rooted in letterpress printing, the company expanded its services beyond the printing industry, offering consulting, project management, and construction assistance. Since 1995, bse has catered to the agricultural and food sectors nationwide, integrating traditional technology with innovative industrial solutions.

Entering the biofuels market in the early 2000s, bse has been instrumental in the development of bioethanol plants, bridging technological advancements with sustainability requirements. Pioneering bio-methanol projects commenced in 2008, with a focus on flexible methanol synthesis processes to harness volatile power prices and grid services.

Continuing to evolve alongside market demands, bse has spearheaded the adoption of e-methanol technology, culminating in the signing of their first FEED contract in 2021.
